Tombili, a beloved resident of Istanbul and online sensation, captured the hearts of people around the world with her adorable, round figure and chilled-out attitude. And when she passed away in 2016, the city of Istanbul knew they had to do something to honor their furry friend.
And what better way to do so than with a statue? That’s right, a statue of Tombili was erected in the very spot where she was famously photographed lounging on the sidewalk. It’s a fitting tribute to a cat who brought so much joy to so many people, and a reminder that even our furry friends can leave a lasting impact on the world. So here’s to you, Tombili. May you rest in peace with a never-ending supply of catnip.
