#56: Modern Life
Ah, the sweet embrace of screens. From the moment we wake up to the moment we fall asleep, they are there, waiting for us. It’s like we’re in a never-ending episode of Black Mirror. We start our day by groggily reaching for our phones and scrolling through social media, checking emails, and catching up on the latest news. Then we spend hours in front of a computer screen for work or school, taking breaks only to check our phones once again. And when we finally finish for the day, we unwind by binge-watching our favorite shows or scrolling through even more social media.
It’s a vicious cycle, and we’re all guilty of it. But at least we’re not alone. Our screens are there for us, providing a constant stream of entertainment and information. And who needs a good night’s sleep anyway? We’ll just sleep when we’re dead… or when our phones run out of battery. But seriously, maybe it’s time to take a break and give our eyes and minds a rest. Or, failing that, invest in some blue light glasses and keep on scrolling.
