Churches often put up signs inviting people to come in and hear a sermon, and they usually use a powerful or preachy verse from the bible to encourage people to come in. In this case, this church chose a pretty questionable verse. Did they not notice this quote could be interpreted in different ways?

Or maybe they did notice, and it was intentional. Maybe they realized this quote is eye-catching and would gain a lot of attention. You know what they say- there’s no such thing as bad publicity. Here we are talking about this, so maybe they got what they wanted.
