#47: What Could Be More American?

If you’ve got to make a sign for your window, why not make it fun? And if your sign has something to do with store hours on the 4th of July, why not tie your sign in some way to the celebration of America? Of course, I’m not entirely sure how much this image celebrates America, but still, I’m digging the choice.

That being said, I’m not sure how well I like Tricky Dick’s chances here. Sure, he’s got the sabertooth tiger on its back, but he’s leaving his stomach unprotected, and he’s one swipe of those massive paws away from certain doom. This is probably accurate; I’ve personally never met Nixon, but he does not strike me as someone who would fare well in a fight with a large predator.
